Our history
Since the Warriors’ inaugural 1984–85 season, one truth has remained constant: the franchise would not be what it is today without the unwavering dedication of the Booster Club. What began with a small group of volunteers determined to keep WHL hockey thriving in Moose Jaw has grown into a cornerstone of the organization. It a totally separate entity created back in 1984 by a group of volunteers who wanted to ensure the Warriors would be around in Moose Jaw for years to come. They weren’t part of the Warriors—just people who wanted to help the team. They raised funds, held raffles, worked bingos, you name it. In the beginning, it was about keeping season tickets affordable and the team viable, but it’s become so much more since.
While bingos once served as the primary fundraiser, today the Club’s largest contributions come from game‑day activities—especially the 50/50 draws, which can exceed $10,000 on a strong night. Nevada tickets and the nightly Seat Draw also play a significant role. Altogether, these efforts generated more than $240,000 last season, directly supporting essential programs such as the education fund, medical needs, equipment, and team transportation. Instead of a single year‑end cheque, the Club now pays approved expenses throughout the season, ensuring funds are used responsibly and where they are needed most.
The Booster Club’s success is driven by two groups: the volunteers who show up game after game, and the fans who participate, purchase, and support every initiative.
